ABOUT US
The future HDBWC will empower Black workers in the High Desert through advocacy, unity, and the pursuit of prosperity. We strive to create equitable opportunities, foster community engagement, and promote economic justice.

Black residents in the High Desert face significant socio-economic challenges. Recent reports indicate that economic and educational disparities for Black Californians could take over 248 years to close without substantial intervention.
Barriers like employment discrimination, limited access to quality education, and inadequate housing worsen these hardships. Wages in the Inland Empire are among the lowest in the nation, with many Black workers in low-paying, unstable warehouse jobs.
These issues are even more severe in the High Desert due to the area’s relative isolation, limited public transportation, and scarce opportunities. The High Desert Black Worker Center is crucial for addressing these challenges.
